Zara Rahim is a strategic communications advisor and cultural strategist whose work spans politics, media, and entertainment. She is a senior advisor to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. An early advisor to his historic mayoral campaign, she helped shape its narrative, cultural strategy, and national media profile, bringing the campaign into spaces where New Yorkers were already forming their views of the city and its future. She later served in City Hall during the administration’s first 100 days and continues to advise the mayor. Rahim began her career on Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and in the White House, later serving as a national spokesperson for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and communications director at Vogue. Her work with artists, cultural institutions, and brands has included A24, Netflix, Mariah Carey, and Pillars Fund.
